Witter and Knuble

Posted on June 07, 2012

Here is an update article on the life and career of Brendan Witt – a Capitals alumni. It was published on Washingtoncaps.com. I always enjoyed watching Brendan play and he had a terrific career in the NHL.   Click here to read this insightful interview and catch up on what he is doing with his family post his retirement from the game.   It is ironic that we have a high first round pick in this coming draft because we traded Witt – upon his request – to the Predators for their first round pick that turned into Semyon Varlamov. And we then traded him to the Avalanche for their first round pick this year.   That Witt trade happened back in 2005 / 2006 – so Brendan is helping out our franchise even today!   Here is another link to a story about Mike Knuble. Mike will not be returning to the Washington Capitals next season. I want to personally thank him for his service to our franchise and our community.   Mike is a pro's pro, a great family man, and a great leader. He was a very productive player for us, and one of the classiest people in the NHL. I respected his game – the way he played and I respected his honesty, his strength and character.   I am hopeful that our paths cross in the future in some way – thank you Mike Knuble.
