A terrific shooter; a player with enormous upside; and also a player that fit a need on our team. Welcome to DC Bradley Beal. I believe our fans will fall in love with this player as he is a budding star; a player with great fundamental skills; and a great shooting touch. He plays defense with confidence he is supremely coachable, and he is a respectful young man to his family, his peers and to the game. We won’t put enormous pressure on our number 1 pick. We are building a team with a good blend of youth and vets now - and he can slide into the rotation; earn his minutes; practice hard with the team and ease into the NBA. He will make an impact but we will develop him in the right way. We want to continue to build the team correctly; with athletic talent and basketball IQ. I believe hard work; chemistry, effort and passion, plus a team-oriented mindset helps to drive a team's improvement and to differentiate the team so it can become a playoff caliber team quickly. I am very happy with our situation. He was the player we had targeted and all members of our staff agreed that he was the best player and fit for us. I am also happy with our selection in the second round; Tomas Satoransky. He is a unique talent - a very big and skilled guard - who is fundamentally sound, and has enormous upside. His workout was quite impressive and our scouts have seen him play a lot during the years. While it may take him a year or two to make our team, this pick I believe will pay dividends to us in the mid and long term.
