Brouillette and Wey

Posted on February 09, 2014 by Ted Leonsis

What a nice way to go out on the Olympic break, with a 3-0 win over the Devils. And a big thank you to our recent call ups from Hershey Julien Brouillette and Patrick Wey. They have played very well and inspired hockey for us the last two games and have contributed greatly with Julien even scoring the game winner in his second NHL game

His parents were in the stands and the celebration made big local news. We are all so proud of him and his efforts on our behalf. He has worked hard during his AHL career and is making the most of his shot at playing in the NHL.

The Caps enter the break one point out of a playoff position.

There will be 23 games left to play when we return, and we will have a very difficult road to hoe as we have the third toughest schedule yet to play .

We need to heal and regain many players who have been injured back into our lineup. That will be most helpful to us as a franchise. And perhaps we will add a young player who was a high draft pick into the lineup at some time too after the break. Time will tell.

I am also proud of the way our five Olympians played the last few games. They weren't distracted, they were focused on team goals and played hard and determined hockey right until the siren ended the game.

We wish them all Godspeed and hope they are productive and have a great experience in Sochi, and come back safe, healthy and hungry.

Here are some going away pixels about the game here, here and here. Click those things; generate some page views today as a true patriot. Go Caps!
