Caps and Wizards in the Center of Things

Posted on February 16, 2014 by Ted Leonsis

Yesterday was an amazing day in sports and for the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards.

At the Olympics, NBC highlighted the USA vs Russia men's hockey game, with Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson playing for their respective countries. And the Today Show ran a very complimentary vignette on Alex Ovechkin, his family, the Olympics and his role with the Caps and the NHL yesterday morning.

In New Orleans, at the NBA All-Star Saturday night event, Bradley Beal was front and center in the Three-Point shooting contest, losing in the finals. He sure looked like an All-Star player and has a beautiful stroke.

Then John Wall won the slam dunk contest with a great dunk over G-man. Throughout the broadcast, the announcers extolled the virtue of our young back court and how much our team had improved and talked about its upside.

Four Capitals and Wizards players positioned right in the center of the sports world. Our fans and all of us are proud. See additional clips here, here and here.
