Game of the Year

Posted on February 28, 2014 by Ted Leonsis

We are now two games over 500 after winning what I thought was the best game of the year. 19 ties, 15 lead changes, triple OT.  A disallowed game-winner at the buzzer at the end of the second OT. Five players fouling out of the game. Great plays in big moments by both teams. This game had everything.

And it was a huge road win for us with Nene and Seraphin out with injury, and Toronto looking for a season sweep over us in their house.

I was impressed by our calm on the floor, and how we stuck to a system. We ran so many pick and rolls that were successful last night in half court sets that I lost count. Gortat was huge for us last night.

And I thought John Wall played a complete and dominant game. He has a real sense of confidence now, and is leading the team like a great player and an All-Star .

It was a shame that one team had to lose last night. We took a big step forwarded mentally I thought in closing that one out. That was a game we  would have lost in the beginning  of our schedule.

Pancakes and pixels for everyone here, here, and here. Kudos to our team as that was a gutty and exciting win. Our fans loved it.
