The Wizards played a strong road game last night in Chicago and take the first game of this playoff series.

As expected, pace, foul shots, defensive rebounding, 3 point shots, and getting to 100 points all mattered last night.

Our young back court of John Wall and Bradley Beal got to taste the intensity of playoff basketball for the first time, and Andre Miller was truly effective and a floor leader in the game.

About playoff experience, if you look at the stats, the Wizards were ranked 14th out of 30 teams in terms of  total roster playoff games in terms of experience. Chicago is ranked 9th, the team with the least playoff man games of experience in the playoffs is Portland, who won last night as well.

Last night's game was all about defense. Chicago is a great team defensively, ranked first. We are a strong defensive team as well though, we ranked top 10, two years in a row, finishing 7th this season in limiting points per 100 possessions.

Chicago took a lot of momentum into the game, since the All star break , they were 21 and 9 - best in the East. But the Wizards were 19 and 11, that is a 50 game plus win pace, and we did that all without Nene for many games. We had some momentum as well.

We all saw how well Nene can play last night. I was proud of him. His teammates rallied around his focus, energy and attention to detail last night. See this article here.

Game 2 is a late one, scheduled for 930 pm EST on Tuesday in Chicago.
