Filmmaking for the Common Man

Nigeria’s film industry called “Nollywood,” coined from America’s “Hollywood,” is far from the glamour of American cinema. 

Instead, the Nigerian film industry focuses exclusively on the stories of the common Nigerian. But the same excitement and enthusiasm for filmmaking is as alive in Nigeria as it is in America, and maybe Hollywood has something to learn from the evident attraction to real life in Nigerian cinema.
