Gutty OT Win

Posted on February 13, 2013 by Ted Leonsis

The Washington Capitals toughed out an important road win last night, 6-5 in OT.

The team overcame a two goal deficit in the third period.

Some familiar and important names contributed in a big way to the win with Alex Ovechkin scoring the game-tying goal late in the third period, and Nick Backstrom making a great breakout pass that led to the winning goal in overtime by team-leading scorer, Troy Brouwer.

It was great to see the team play hard - with emotion and determination. The team needed the two points and to set out on this road trip in a positive manner.

There is a lot of terrific coverage on the game here, here, here, here and here.

Onward to Thursday's game against Tampa. Go Caps!
