I Stand in Solidarity with Alex Ovechkin

Posted on September 11, 2013 by Ted Leonsis

Alex Ovechkin and his family have been central figures to the Russian Olympic movement for many years. Alex's mother in basketball and Alex in ice hockey. Alex has always communicated to us his dreams of winning a Stanley Cup and an Olympic Gold medal.

We will work with Alex and all of our Olympian players to make sure they have a great experience at the Games and help them balance their dual responsibilities to our franchise and our fans and to their country. I am confident we can make this all work out.

Read these articles here, here, and here.

And as Alex Ovechin had to wear a boot to protect his foot, I too am in a boot but on my right foot. I recently had some surgery so you will next see walking with crutches as I recover from an upper body injury. I stand in boot with Alex.
