Ovechkin Finalist For "Most Outstanding Player" Award

Posted on May 09, 2013 by Ted Leonsis

Congratulations to Alex Ovechkin, a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award, which is presented to the NHL’s Most Outstanding Player as voted by fellow players.

Alex has won the award three times, and I know it carries an added significance when you are recognized by your peers. Read more here. At the conclusion of the regular season, he earned his third Rocket Richard Trophy as the top goal scorer in the league.

Individual accolades are nice, but Alex and all of his teammates realize team success is the ultimate goal and gratification. Wish us well as we return to Verizon for Game 5 tomorrow night. Our fans have been incredible all year, and they have taken it up a notch in the playoffs. We all look forward to that added energy that only Caps fans can provide. Thank you and Go Caps!
