Random NotesPosted on April 22, 2013 by Ted Leonsis
Here is an article about our second line and how it is providing scoring balance against defenses that try to focus on shutting down our first line. It is interesting to note that this second line is not a home grown line - all brought in via the draft like our first line of MoJo, Backstrom and Ovechkin.
In fact, the second line was all brought to the team via trades of picks or prospects. Brouwer, Erat and Ribeiro are all products of trades for young players; they are all vets and they are proving very tough to play against.
A true yin and yang of team construction.
On another note, I apologize to those of you who received spam mail from my old, unused WashingtonCaps AOL email address last week. I shut down that account almost a year ago, but kept it as an inactive account. It was hacked and spam mail went out to a large group of folks. The account has now been deactivated and locked. Please note that I don't use the account and can't read any mail from that email address any longer. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience of the hacked account and spam mail.
Today was the team photo for the Washington Capitals at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. It is our last week of the regular season, and we play the last three games at home at Verizon Center .
On Wednesday, many of us in the NHL will participate in the Congressional Hockey Caucus, an important event with members of Congress here in DC. Gary Bettman, Willie O'Ree and many owners and league officials will attend and speak.Posted in: Sports
