"The Good Son"Posted on February 01, 2013 by Ted Leonsis
My wife and I hosted an
event last night in celebration of the great new film called "The Good
It is a film about
fathers and sons, family values, loss, triumph and survival. It is a film that
is historic in its sweep, and it is based on the life and times of a true
champion of a man, Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini.
We had quality time with
Ray last night. He is a gentle, wise and very successful man. A true iconic American
sports figure. A father, a son, and a man with a humane perspective about life,
and about the sport of boxing. He fought for the right reasons: honor,
family, and his home town.
The producers of the
movie are long-term friends and truly did spectacular work on this film.
"The Good Son" is a moving documentary, and the screening
last night was a tribute to a real life hero.
